Can a player touch the net after the ball is dead?

Net contact is a fault only while the ball is live. Touching the net after the ball is already dead is not a separate net-contact fault, although an earlier event may already have ended the rally or created a fault.

First determine when the ball became dead. The net-contact prohibition is limited to the live-ball period.
