What do second server and side out mean in pickleball doubles?

After a side out, the correctly positioned player on the right begins as first server and the partner is second server. The first server continues until the team loses a rally; then the partner serves. When the second server loses a rally, service passes to the opponents: a side out.

The first serving team begins a new game with its starting server designated second server, which is why that initial rotation has only one server. The normal two-server rotation applies after later side outs.
