Is a pickleball that lands on the line in or out?

A returned ball touching a court boundary line is in. A serve is different: it must land in the correct diagonal service court, and a serve on the non-volley-zone line is out because that line belongs to the zone.

To call a ball out, the player must clearly see space between the ball and the line; doubtful calls favor the opponent. Apply the service-court exception before saying every line ball is in.
