Which side do you serve from in pickleball, and how does serving order work?

In singles, serve from the right when your score is zero or even and from the left when it is odd. In doubles, the correctly positioned player starts on the right after a side out; a server alternates right and left after each point won until that team's service turn ends.

Doubles position also depends on the starting server and the team's score; partners do not swap their identities when they change sides. If the wrong player serves or receives, consult the position-error rules for when it was noticed.
