Find, Accept, and Open a Group

Updated August 23, 2026

Before you begin

Personal groups are conversations. They do not appear in the Courts, Clubs, or OPL Browse lists.

iPhone, iPad, and Android

Open Messages.

Look at the top of the conversation list for a card that says Group invitation from followed by the sender's name.

Select Accept to join or Decline to reject the invitation.

After joining, tap the group in Messages to open it.

macOS and Windows

Select Messages from the side navigation.

Use the Chats list.

Accept or decline a group invitation at the top of the list.

Select a joined group to open it in the conversation pane.

Web

Open Messages on desktop web or Chats on narrow mobile web.

Find Group invitation from at the top of the list.

Select Accept or Decline.

Select the group conversation to open it.

Find a group you already joined

Open Messages or Chats.

Enter part of the group title in the search field.

Select the matching conversation.

If it is not listed, open Archived and check the archived conversations.

Expected result

Accepting adds the group conversation to your list. Declining removes the invitation without joining. Opening a group shows its messages and group header.

If the group is missing

Clear the search and refresh the conversation list.

Check Archived.

Ask an admin whether the invitation was withdrawn or the membership was removed.

A link-based request may still be waiting for admin approval.
