Recreational pickleball players and court operators face a choice in organized play: arrange matches with designated opponents in advance, or add competitive continuity to the open-play sessions players already attend?

Fixed-schedule leagues have long offered structure, but their set times and partner commitments do not suit everyone. DUPR Flex Leagues offer a different approach: players receive round-robin matchups and organize the time and court with their opponents within a multi-week window. That flexibility still requires participants to coordinate each matchup.

MYOPL (My Open Play Leagues) offers another format: Open Play Leagues built around recurring sessions and the familiar drop-in rhythm. Play like you always have. Progress like you never could.

Open Play With Continuity

Players can arrive at their usual venue, follow its existing court rotation, and change partners between games. Where a venue uses a paddle stack, that process can continue. Players who choose to record results submit scores for confirmation; those matches contribute to a separate recreational OPL Rating and can support optional court, club, and broader leaderboards. Participation in ordinary open play does not depend on recording a score or joining a leaderboard.

How the Formats Differ

Scheduling: Flex League participants arrange assigned matches with their opponents within the league window. An Open Play League can use a venue’s existing drop-in sessions without assigning each matchup in advance.

Partners and opponents: Flex formats follow their league’s assigned matchups; MYOPL supports rotating doubles partners and fluid open-play games.

Continuity: Confirmed MYOPL results can build an OPL Rating and optional standings across ordinary recreational sessions. Club and court organizers can set up and manage Open Play Leagues without a MYOPL software fee; venue admission or court fees remain the venue’s decision.
