What happens if an extra ball falls from a player's pocket during a live rally?

In non-officiated tournament play, an extra ball carried by a player must remain concealed and in the player's possession. If it becomes visible to an opponent or falls onto the playing surface while the ball is live, it is a fault against that player.

This player-carried-ball rule is different from a stray ball entering from another court, which may be treated as a hinder.
