Share or Reset a Group Invite Link

Updated August 23, 2026

Before you begin

Admins can share group links. Other members can share the current link only when Invite other people to join is enabled. Only an admin can reset the link.

Open the invite tools

On iPhone, iPad, Android, macOS, Windows, or web:

Open the group.

Open Group Info from the header.

Select Invite to group via link.

You can also use Invite via link from the chat menu.

Choose how to share

Send link via MyOPL Messenger: choose MYOPL recipients and send the link in their conversations.

Copy link: copy the URL for use elsewhere.

Share Link: open the device or browser share choices. If web sharing is unavailable, MYOPL copies the link.

Download QR Code: on the web, download a printable PNG flyer; in installed apps, generate the QR image and open the system share/export choices.

Display QR Code: show a scannable code on the screen.

The sender chooses where to share. MYOPL does not join the recipient automatically.

What the recipient sees

The recipient opens the link or scans the QR code.

A signed-out person can view the invitation but must sign in or create an account to join.

If admin approval is off, an eligible signed-in person joins immediately.

If approval is on, MYOPL sends a pending request to the admins.

Reset the link as an admin

Select Reset link.

Review the warning that the old link will stop working.

Select Reset.

Share the newly generated link.

Expected result

Shared links open the group invitation. Resetting invalidates every copy of the old URL immediately.

If a link does not work

It may have been reset by an admin.

The recipient may already be a member.

A join request may still be waiting for approval.

A non-admin may share the current link but cannot reset it.
